Suburban Basketball Clinics

Introduction to Basketball

These clinics introduce children (4-6 years old) to the movements and the fundamental skills involved in playing the game of basketball. In many towns basketball does not start until the 3rd grade and these clinics provide children with a head start towards playing and understanding the game. We use 27.5” basketballs and 6ft hoops to accommodate the smaller ballers. Instead of playing games at this level we focus on learning skills and turning each skill into a modified competition. Each clinic is highly organized to maximize the amount of active learning time and minimize the amount of down time.

Next Step Basketball

Next step basketball clinics are for children (6-8 years old) who have some basketball experience and would like to improve their skills, strength, coordination, agility, flexibility, confidence, and so much more. In the next step program we use 28.5” basketballs and shoot on 8ft rims. We still focus on skill development and use modified games.  These clinics are great for a young baller to continue improving their skills.

Format
The clinics are an introduction to the game with a focus on skill building. We do have a lot of competitions but we do not play full court games. The clinics are one hour in length and all you need to bring is your child, sneakers, athletic clothing and some water. Parents can stay and watch or leave and come back at the end just make us aware if you are leaving. The clinics are limited to 25 participants and they will probably sell out due to the low inventory for this school year.
